Dr Amelia Lapraik
Consultant Adult Perinatal Psychiatrist

Dr Amelia Lapraik is a Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist. She trained at King’s College London before completing her specialist psychiatric training at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. She also holds a BSc in Medical Ethics and Law from King’s College London.
Dr Lapraik is dedicated to improving mental healthcare for women and currently works within a specialist perinatal mental health service. Her clinical expertise spans preconception counselling, antenatal mental health care, and postnatal support, helping women navigate mental health challenges throughout pregnancy and early motherhood.
She has previously worked within the National Female Hormone Clinic and has a particular interest in Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD). Alongside her clinical work, Dr Lapraik has contributed to research in postpartum psychosis, presented at international symposia and national conferences, and plays an active role in service development and quality improvement initiatives.
Outside of work, she enjoys playing tennis and is enthusiastically learning padel.
